MAY MADNESS...SUPERHERO STYLE!
For Family Night we did a lesson on Superheroes:
1.We gave them hard tests of strength, agility, and intelligence.
2.We said- ask for help from a loving father.
They did much better...
3.We asked what challenges they had/how can they overcome them?
They learned, "I can overcome challenges w/ help from a loving
Heavenly Father and family"
4.They set a goal/plan on how they can overcome a challenge
5.At the end they got superhero names/descriptions posted on our
door to remind them of who they can be with God's help
Wendy: Wonder Woman is currently in rehab due to an illness called (I think I am Wonder Woman but I am actually a human). May was jam packed with fun reunions, bdays, performances, and teaching...crazy-YES!...worth it?-DEFINATELY! Mommy is OUR Wonder Woman because she is super agile and her eyeballs are like a lasso of truth.
Christian: Spiderman is 10! Double Digits. This is NOT cool Spidey. You promised not to get old. Now you complain about going to story time at the library and won't decorate easter eggs-what gives? Spidey got straight A's the whole year, received a Citizenship Award, and was at the top of his class. Christian is our Spiderman because he has GREAT powers of mind and faith that he uses to lead and grow!
Alyssa: She-RA is a straight A student in the FOCUS program, fashionista, teacher's pet, Daddy's goose!...Which is confusing since she watches over Reagan like a mother hen. Alyssa is growing in love and faith and independence- we are so proud of the way she serves and prays for others. Alyssa is OUR She-RA because she knows she is a daughter of God, giving her the power to overcome all obstacles that come her way.
Tyler: The Incredible Hulk is a READER! Tyler 2.0 can now read, write, count to 100, add, subtract! He has developed quite a skill of memorization and math ability through hours and hours of study! We are so proud of his hard work-he often wanted to do extra homework each day. Tyler is OUR Hulk because he is smart like Dr. Banner and strong/good at ripping clothes like Lou Ferrigno.
Reagan: Xena, Warrior Princess is like a fierce lady of the Amazon. Lately, she has learned the art of Karate and can be found trying to chop suey Daddy's head- saying, "Hiya-Ray Ray" (she often speaks in the third person- or Swahili).
Reagan skills also include: Sleeping. She will sleep until 9:30 each day & nap for hours. Reagan is OUR Xena because she is a formidable force-of will, energy, and love that we could not do without.
